Discussion: you will need qualified and trained employees;
apprenticeship programs (from whom you draw apprentices and ultimately
graduate journeymen) exist for both union and non-union (merit shop or
open shop) companies. There are advantages and disadvantages for both.
Get a lot of information and weigh your options carefully, because,
while you can switch later, this is a pretty basic decision, which
affects most other decisions down the line.
